Rwandan singer Shannel to grace IBUKA 20th anniversary in Switzerland

Rwandan songstress and actress, Ruth Nirere aka Shannel is currently in serious rehearsals to as she prepares to entertain Rwandan Diaspora in Switzerland June 13.

The Ndarota fame, along with fellow singer Ben Kayiranga will lighten the mood as Rwandans in Switzerland converge to mark 20 year Anniversary of IBUKA-Switzerland.

IBUKA, is an umbrella organisation bringing together survivors of the Rwandan 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Paris-based Shannel recently took to her Facebook Page to share the news with her worldwide fanbase.

“I’m glad I have been selected as one of the artistes to headline IBUKA Switzerland 20 years anniversary.” She wrote on her page

IBUKA was founded in 1994 in Rwanda to help the 1994 Genocide survivors regain hope and dignity and it has branches in various countries across the globe.

Shanel started her music and acting careers at a tender age and became popular in showbiz industry especially in Genocide-themed movies. She boasts of songs Nakutaka, Siliza and Ndarota.
