SURVIVOR: Sepp Blatter has survived a scare

Despite the ongoing corruption scandals engulfing FIFA, Sepp Blatter has yet won the FIFA presidential election Friday, Blatter, who garnered  133 votes of the 209 possible votes in the first round of voting will now lead the world football governing body for a fifth term after his formidable challenger, Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein of Jordan withdrew from the race although he had votes to force the second round.

Blatter lost support from the United States, the country whose justice system investigated and is leading prosecution of top FIFA officials for “blatant” corruption, but his support in Africa, Asia and Latin America was never in doubt.
